Galland Henning Nopak Cylinder Lines

Class 1-2-M

Heavy-duty cast head pneumatic cylinder line. Exclusive design

has been “user-proven” with over 60 years as the workhorse of the industry. Each assembly is pre-lubricated and 100 % pressure tested. Over 5 mounting styles in 11 bore sizes.

Class 1-2-M

Features

It has hard-coated aluminum cylinder tubes. Class M cylinders come with chrome-plated I.D. steel tubing that is furnished for 10" through 14" diameter cylinders. It is also equipped with welded flanges.

It is further equipped with a ball check valve that can be easily opened. The valve not only takes care of the starting under full power but also allows line pressure to act on the entire piston area in no time.

Cylinders have hard chrome plated steel piston rods. The rods are threaded in

one of three types of rod ends.

Different oversize diameter rods can be accommodated in all standard rod head castings.

It has an adjustable cushion that gives

it a variable cushioning feature and prevents noisy, damaging metal-to-metal impact of the piston against cylinder heads.

The threading packing gland is locked by three positive seal V-Ring Nylok inserts which enables it to maintain proper packing compressions. Larger diameters employ a piston rod bushing gland and bolted retainer ring.

It has a recessed gasket seal that is present between the cylinder wall and head in Class 1 cylinders. The seal is usually made leakproof.

The cylinder heads are made of iron alloy which makes them durable and long-lasting. When standard and special heads are combined, it makes the cylinders versatile and capable of carrying out special applications.

Class 1-2-M-SVR

Nopak Severe Service Cylinders. Heavy-duty cast head pneumatic cylinder line. Exclusive design has been “user-proven” with over

60 years as the workhorse of the industry. Each assembly is

pre-lubricated and 100 % pressure tested. Over 5 mounting styles

in 11 bore sizes.

Features

The piston rod packing box is fabricated in a way to make it an ideal fit for oversize rods and double bearings with bolt-on steel packing retainers

The diameter of the piston rod is usually larger than that of the OB rod.

The rod seals are easily adjustable and are available in fabric-reinforced nitrile or fabric-reinforced Fluorocarbon. They come in multiple stacks split V-Packing.

The piston rod thread lengths are longer than standard Class 1, 2, M to build in a hex jam nut.

Class 3

NFPA interchangeable high-pressure hydraulic cylinder product line. Time-proven 3-groove piston with cast iron rings outboard and a "GT" positive seal in the center groove. Each assembly is proof tested (as a pressure vessel) at 5000 PSI. Over 20 mounting styles in 14 bore sizes and all popular rod sizes available.

Class 3

Features

Enhanced cushion adjustment: Newly designed needle valve is interchangeable with the current design which offers better sealing characteristics.

Piston: High strength, fine grain cast iron piston fitted with split “Tongue-seal” cast iron piston rings on either side of a homogenous “T” ring supplied with back-up rings. “T” ring furnished on all models; oversized are fitted with piston rings. The outboard piston rings effectively seal off initial shock loads and allow the “T” ring to provide a leak-proof piston seal with maximum life.

Tie rod: Material stress-proof steel for maximum strength. Multiple tie rods in each corner are furnished on all models, 10” thru 20” diameter bores.

Rod wiper: Wipes rod clean and dry. Keeps foreign matter from entering the cylinder, extending packing life.

End caps: (Cylinder heads) Precision broached steel blocks.

Cushion adjustment needle: Needle valves and ball check drilling and machining are identical, making the location of these functions interchangeable.

Heavy wall: Steel tubing, precision-honed with extra-long stones to provide over-lap and eliminate a spiral condition detrimental to long-stroke cylinders. The resulting ultra-smooth finish provides maximum seal life.

Rod Packing: Choice of self-adjusting to pressure, multi-lip split seal or continuous pre-loaded lip seal.

Rod ends threading: Choice of standard catalogue male and female thread types plus standard wrench flats.

Tube seal: Two-Step Pilot Recess Grooves afford Positive Controlled Squeeze on Pressure Sealed O-Ring, while Tubing locates concentrically against End Cap.

Piston rod: High tensile 100,000PSI minimum yield stress-proof steel, ground, polished, and flash chrome plated .0003/.0005 to provide a hard, long-wearing surface with low friction, but not corrosion resistant. Consult the factory for special applications.

Packing gland: Readily removable long bearing type. Rod packing easily replaced without loosening tie rods or dismantling cylinder.

Cushion ball check: Assures quick starting under full power; pressure acts on full piston area instantaneously.

Class 6

NFPA interchangeable pneumatic steel square head cylinder product line. Hard coated aluminum or non-corrosive steel

tube and high strength steel piston rod and tie rods to provide

a robust product. Each assembly is pre-lubricated and 100%

pressure tested. Over 20 mounting styles in 14 bore sizes

and all popular rod sizes available.

Boosters Intensifiers and Air-Oil Tanks

We offer a comprehensive line of NOPAK intensifiers and boosters for any low, medium, or high-pressure applications. Our hydraulic boosters convert low-pressure shop air in hydraulic power units to an intensified hydraulic pressure. Using optimized processes and appropriate additives for lubricity, treated parts can handle high-pressure water as well.

Boosters Intensifiers and Air-Oil Tanks

Features

Boosters

Cylinder tubing: Hard coated aluminum, incorporating an extremely wear-resistant surface, and low friction hydraulic cylinders.

Piston assembly: a one-piece piston, machined from high-strength cast iron. Two U-cup seals are of the pressure compensating sealing type backed up by Teflon non-extrusion washers.

Tube seal: Positive controlled metal squeeze on pressure sealed O-Ring.

Air/oil tanks

Baffles on either end of the tank to reduce turbulence caused by rapid intake of air and discharge of oil causing aeration, whirlpooling and foaming.

Rod seals: Are self-compensating to pressure, multi-lip vee type packing. Specifically designed for high-pressure sealing and minimum leakage.

Tie rods and locknuts: Tie rod material is alloy steel for maximum strength. Nuts are of high-strength steel material and designed for self-locking.

Ports: are machined as an SAE dry seal national pipe thread standard.

Replaceable sight gauge mounted in heads on the tank side. The transparent plastic sight tube clearly shows oil levels in the tank and is compatible with most hydraulic fluids

Rod bearing: Long-wearing type bronze is concentrically machined for accurate alignment ensuring longer seal life.

Piston rod: hard chrome plated stress-proof steel, ground and polished, 125,000 tensile Rockwell 25C.

End caps and ram nozzle: accurately machined from high-quality steel plate or bar stock.

Large pipe ports enable the quick filling or draining of the tank. Aluminum heads are standard for tank diameters of 3 1/4″ dia. Thru 14″ diameters modified for added ports plus aluminum tubes are standard stock.
